What you are looking at is a working blog. Old pieces stay up in the archive rather than quietly disappearing, including the ones that have aged badly.
Most of what is written about football tactics and culture is written by people who have never had to live with the results. IW Kaiyun is the opposite arrangement, and that is the whole idea behind it.
There are questions we routinely decline. Anything that depends on facts only you can see, and anything where being wrong would cost you real money on our say so.
Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and every name links to a page listing everything else they have written.
Callum Ashworth, Match tactics and analysis writer. Callum spent years coaching at semi-professional level before moving to writing full time. He watches matches back at half speed more often than he would like to admit, and writes about tactics the way he used to explain them to his own squad.
Priya Nandakumar, Player development and coaching writer. Priya has worked with youth academies on and off for over a decade, mostly at the age groups nobody writes about. She writes about development with a bias toward what actually happens on a Tuesday training session, not what looks good in a highlight reel.
Dario Bianchi, Fan culture and club history writer. Dario grew up going to matches with three generations of his family before he ever picked up a notebook about it. He writes about the parts of football that happen away from the pitch, the chants, the rivalries, and the identity questions clubs rarely answer honestly.
Nothing gets filed under three headings at once. If a piece does not have an obvious home, that usually means it has not been thought through yet. The busiest sections are match tactics, player development and fan culture.
There is no subscription, no newsletter upsell and no course. If that changes we will announce it on this page before anywhere else.
The method is dull and it works. Explain what happens, explain what it costs, explain what can go wrong, then stop writing.
Nobody has editorial input except the people whose names are on the articles. That includes anyone who has ever sent us money.
If you want the mechanics rather than the summary, the editorial policy has them, including what we refuse to publish.
Corrections go to [email protected]. Quote the sentence rather than describing it. We would rather log a visible correction than edit a page and hope nobody noticed, and the contact page explains the rest.
